This loop was inked and painted entirely on cels. The cels were scanned and layered over a gouache-painted background, with final touches and compositing completed in After Effects.
This is the pencil test that was created for this loop.
This is a work-in-progress pencil test for a character I designed. Once the animation is complete, each frame will be digitally inked, colored, and printed onto sticker sheets. I’ll place each sticker in different locations around Chicago, photograph them in sequence and edit the images together to recreate the animation. This project is a love letter to my other favorite past-time (running in Chicago).
The ink and color for this was done in Photoshop.
