This is a fictional podcast I developed that explores the fascinating history of museums around the world and provides tips and tricks for listeners to have a wonderful visiting experience. The assets I designed are primarily for any promotional banners that would be used for Spotify, Apple Podcasts, social media, etc.
Show Cover Art
This is the show's primary cover art. The illustration is of a girl listening to a museum audio tour guide. The rectangles bordering the illustration represent artist Piet Mondrian and his abstract style of painting, in which rectangular forms represent the most basic elements of nature. The motif conveys the theme of the podcast which is to break down a famous museum's history and exhibits.
The colors of the girl's hair, scarf, and sweater were chosen to connect her to the rectangular forms, further emphasizing her connection to art and, by greater extension, the implied museum she is visiting.
Logotypes
MUSEUM is in GeoSans Light. TALK is in Helvetic Regular with the baseline extended to align with GeoSans Light, The tagline is in Helvetica Light.
The typefaces were chosen to capture the intent and personality of the podcast. GeoSans Light mimics the branding and logotypes of famous museums including the Art Institute of Chicago, the J. Paul Getty Museum, and the Guggenheim. Helvetica is a universal font, and thus was chosen to mimic the idea beind the podcast with is to provide the listener with a myriad of information of museums for any type of listener, whether they are a museum newbie or aficionado.
